Our Plan
What We Will Do Today
- 🎯 Look at a pictograph — what do we notice?
- ⭐ Learn: one sticker = one person
- 📊 Learn what a column is
- 🌟 Each of us places our sticker on the class chart
- 🦋 Brain break — be your favorite animal!
- ✏️ Draw our mini pictograph on the worksheet

Look Carefully!
What Do You Notice? 👀
Your teacher is showing a picture graph. Look at it carefully.
"What do you notice about this picture? What question do you think was asked?"
Look at the columns. Look at the dots. What story does this picture tell?

Lesson 1
What Is a Pictograph? 📊
A pictograph is a graph where each picture stands for one thing.
⭐ One sticker = one person
- Every person gets exactly ONE sticker
- You place it in the column that matches YOUR answer
- When everyone is done, we can READ the graph!

Lesson 1
What Is a Column? 📊
A column is a line of stickers going UP — like a tower!
The tallest column has the most people! You can see it just by looking! 👀

Lesson 2
One Sticker = One Person ⭐
Your sticker means:
- → YOU answered this question
- → YOUR answer is in that column
- → YOUR sticker is part of our data
Remember:
- → ONE sticker only
- → In YOUR column
- → In the next empty row

Activity Time!
Our Question Today! ❓
Which animal do you like best?
Think about your answer. When your turn comes — walk up and place your sticker!
8 / 15
Watch First!
Teacher Goes First 👀
Watch your teacher place their sticker on the wall chart.
- 1️⃣ Walk to the chart
- 2️⃣ Find your column (your favorite animal)
- 3️⃣ Find the lowest empty row
- 4️⃣ Place your sticker there carefully
- 5️⃣ Walk back to your seat
Take your time! There is no rush. 🐢

Your Turn!
Place Your Sticker! ⭐
Your teacher will call your group. When it's your turn:
- 🚶 Walk to the wall chart
- 🐶🐱🐦 Find YOUR column
- ⬆️ Place your sticker in the next empty spot
- 🚶 Walk back quietly
While you wait — watch the chart grow! Notice which column is getting taller. 👀

🦋
Brain Break — Be Your Animal!
Stand up and move like your favorite animal for 30 seconds!
🐶 Wag · 🐱 Stretch · 🐦 Flap · 🐸 Hop · 🐢 Crawl slowly
Sit back down when you hear the clap! 👏

Look at Our Graph!
What Do We See? 👀
Stand back and look at our whole class pictograph.
- Which column is the tallest?
- Which column is the shortest?
- Can you count the stickers in each column?
- Does the tallest column surprise you?
We built this graph together — every sticker is one of us! 🌟

Worksheet Time
Draw Your Mini Graph ✏️
On your worksheet, draw a mini version of our class pictograph:
- 📊 Draw or place dots for each person in each column
- 🏷️ Label each column with the animal name
- 🔢 Write the number of stickers in each column
Look at the wall chart to copy — that is the right thing to do! 👀
