My Story
I'm a Lebanese-American mom of five who came to the U.S. determined to build a new life. I started at community college, transferred to UCLA, and earned my Bachelor's in Math/Economics and Master's in Statistics. Now I teach across multiple institutions and research AI-powered education.
My children — Adam, Aya, Abed, Issa, and Zachariah — are my greatest inspiration.

Every student I teach reminds me that the quality of help available in the moment of struggle — not the lecture, not the textbook — is what determines whether they continue in math or step away. My research asks whether AI, built responsibly, can become that help.
AI-Powered Cognitive Scaffolding for Statistics Education
I study how AI-powered cognitive scaffolding systems can improve learning outcomes in introductory statistics, with particular attention to first-generation, neurodivergent, and historically underserved students. The work sits at the intersection of statistics pedagogy, learning science, and the design of AI tools that amplify teaching without replacing it — the focus I am pursuing as I prepare to return to UCLA for doctoral study.
