Horizon Bucks

A Classroom Economy for Enrichment 06 — New Horizon School Westside

Earn Money Run a Business Shop at the Store Give Back

How Horizon Bucks Work

In this class, there are no letter grades. Instead, your success is measured by Horizon Bucks — the official currency of Enrichment 06. You earn money by participating, completing activities, helping classmates, and showing respect. You lose money for disruptive behavior. At the end of the program, you'll spend your earnings at the Classroom Store and use your business skills to give back to the school.

Every student starts with $50 Horizon Bucks. Your goal? Earn as much as you can through hard work, smart choices, and teamwork.

Capstone: The Class Business Project

In sessions 3-7, your team will create a real micro-business. You'll brainstorm an idea, write a business plan, launch your business, and use the profits to achieve three goals:

For the Class

Buy something the class needs — supplies, a decoration, a shared tool

For Each Student

Buy something each student wants — a personal reward for their hard work

For the School

Donate something to NHSW — giving back to your community

Business ideas: Bake sale, handmade crafts, art commissions, tutoring service, recycling collection, bookmark/card design, or your own original idea!
