Zapier has been the universal glue between work apps for a decade. Its AI layer (Copilot) lets you describe a workflow in plain English, and it builds the “Zap” automation for you. If you have been thinking “someone should automate this,” this is where you become that someone.
2 Walkthrough
- Go to zapier.com. Sign up (free).
- Click Create Zap → Copilot.
- Describe a real need: When a new row is added to my Google Sheet of event RSVPs, send me a Slack message and email the attendee a confirmation.
- Copilot builds the Zap. Connect the accounts it asks for (Google, Slack, email).
- Test it with one row. Watch the chain fire.

Today’s exercise
Automate one thing you do manually every week. Literally anything: RSS to email, form to spreadsheet, calendar to task list. Turn it on. You just bought back that recurring time.

Zapier's AI Actions let you call ChatGPT/Claude inside a Zap, so an incoming email can be summarized and routed based on its content. Once you see that possibility, half your inbox can be automated.
