Difficulty levels: Easy Medium Challenge
1 Sticker Pictograph Easy Activity
Ask 8 people their favorite fruit (apple, banana, orange). Use stickers to build a pictograph. Add a title!
2 Crayon Pictograph Easy Activity
Count your crayons by color. Draw a pictograph using one square per crayon. Which color do you have the most of?
3 Animal Pictograph Medium Activity
Ask 10 people: cat, dog, or fish? Build a pictograph. Write 3 sentences about what the data shows.
4 Read Someone Else's Medium Discussion
Trade pictographs with a partner (or family member). Can they answer questions about YOUR data? Can you answer questions about theirs?
5 Pictograph Story Medium Creative
Build a pictograph of favorite seasons. Then write a short story about what the data means: 'Most people in my family love summer because...'
6 Two Pictographs Challenge Critical Thinking
Ask the same question to two different groups (your class vs. your family). Build two pictographs side by side. Are the results the same or different?
