1 Graph Reading Challenge Easy Activity

Look at 3 different graphs (bar chart, pictograph, dot plot). For each one, write: (1) What is it about? (2) What is the most common category or value? (3) What is one pattern you notice?

2 Conclusion Writing Practice Easy Writing

Given this data: 'Favorite Fruits survey — Apple: 8, Banana: 5, Orange: 4, Grape: 3.' Write 3 different 'the data shows...' statements.

3 Pattern Spotter Medium Discussion

Look at data showing ice cream sales each month for a year. Find: (1) Which month had the highest sales? (2) Is there a seasonal pattern? (3) Write a sentence explaining the trend.

4 Observation vs. Inference Medium Activity

For a given dataset, write 3 observations (what the data directly shows) and 3 inferences (what you think it might mean). Label each clearly.

5 Data Story Draft Medium Writing

Write your complete data story: your question, how you collected data, what your graph shows, and your conclusion. Include at least 2 'the data shows...' statements.

6 Two Graphs, One Dataset Challenge Critical Thinking

Take one dataset and create two different graphs of it. Do both graphs tell the same story? Does one emphasize different patterns? Write about which graph communicates better and why.
