Session 8: Practice Activities

Time to Practice!

6 activities to reinforce what you learned. Try them all!

Difficulty levels: Easy Medium Challenge

1 Report Outline Easy Writing

Write a complete outline for your data report: title, question, planned method, planned analysis, and what graphs you expect to create.

2 Statistics Summary Easy Activity

Calculate and neatly display all key statistics for your dataset: mean, median, max, min, range, and total count. Put them in a clear summary table.

3 Visualization Suite Medium Activity

Create at least 3 different visualizations of your data: a bar chart, a line graph (if applicable), and one more of your choice. Each must have a title and labels.

4 Peer Review Medium Group Activity

Exchange data reports with a partner. Read their report and give feedback: Is the question clear? Are the graphs readable? Do the conclusions match the evidence? Write 3 strengths and 2 suggestions.

5 Final Presentation Practice Medium Activity

Practice presenting your data report to a family member or friend. Time yourself (aim for 3-5 minutes). Ask them: What was clear? What was confusing? Revise based on feedback.

6 Grade 4 Data Scientist Reflection Challenge Writing

Write a one-page reflection on your entire Grade 4 data science journey. What was the most valuable thing you learned? What skill are you most proud of? How will you use data science in the future? What question do you want to investigate next?
