6 activities to reinforce what you learned. Try them all!

1 Claim Finder Easy Activity

Find 5 data claims from different sources (news, ads, social media, school). For each, write: the claim, the source, and one question you would ask about it.

2 Source Checker Easy Research

Take one data claim and trace it back to its original source. How many layers of reporting did you go through? Did the claim change as it was passed along?

3 Investigation Outline Medium Writing

Write a complete outline for your Data Detective Investigation: the claim, your planned investigation steps, what evidence you will look for, and what a fair verdict would require.

4 Peer Investigation Exchange Medium Group Activity

Exchange investigations with a partner. Review their report and give feedback: Is the evidence convincing? Is the verdict fair? Are there gaps? Write 3 strengths and 2 suggestions.

5 Final Presentation Medium Activity

Present your Data Detective Investigation to your class, family, or study group. Include: the claim, your investigation, your evidence, and your verdict. Take questions.

6 Data Detective Certification Reflection Challenge Writing
