Difficulty levels: Easy Medium Challenge
1 Zakat Calculator Easy Activity
If someone has $2,000 in savings, calculate their Zakat (2.5%). Then calculate Zakat on $5,000, $10,000, and $50,000. Notice: Zakat grows with wealth.
2 Giving Impact Map Easy Creative
Draw a diagram showing how $10 given to a family in need flows through a community. Show at least 4 stops the money makes (grocery store, farmer, truck driver, etc.). This illustrates the multiplier effect.
3 Barakah Reflection Medium Writing
Write about a time when being honest or generous seemed to bring unexpected good into your life (or into someone else's life). How does this connect to the concept of Barakah?
4 Community Giving Research Medium Research
Research a charity or giving organization in your community. Answer: What do they do? Who do they help? How can you contribute (money, time, or supplies)? Would you recommend them? Why?
5 Personal Financial Plan Draft Medium Activity
Using the template from Lesson 4, draft your complete personal financial plan: (1) Your income sources, (2) Your budget categories and amounts, (3) Your savings goal and timeline, (4) Your giving commitment, (5) One thing you will stop spending on.
6 Course Reflection: Money Purpose Revisited Challenge Writing
Look back at your journal answer from Session 1: 'What do I think money is for?' Has your answer changed? Write a new response and compare it to your original. What did you learn? What surprised you most?
