Workbook — Session 9: Today I Feel...

Name: _________________________________

Print this page. Use it during the session. Keep it in your folder.

🟢 1. Letter review — write your favorites

This week is a review week — no new letter today! Pick two letters you've learned so far and write each one three times.

My first letter is: _______

My second letter is: _______

Tip: if you can't remember any, peek at an old workbook. That's allowed!

🟡 2. Find the feeling words

Circle every word below that means a feeling:

مَبسوط     بابا     زَعلان     تُفّاحة     خايِف     تَعبان

Hint: four of them are feelings. Two of them are NOT.

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read these three words out loud. Point to each face as you say it:

Face Arabic Say it
😊
مَبسوط
mab-soot
😢
زَعلان
za'-lan
😴
تَعبان
ta'-ban

After you read them, make the face that matches each word. Big silly faces are best.

🟣 4. Match the feeling to the face

Draw a line from each Arabic word on the right to the face on the left.

Face Feeling
😨 Scared ─ →
مَبسوط
😊 Happy ─ →
تَعبان
😴 Tired ─ →
خايِف
😢 Sad ─ →
زَعلان

🔵 5. Draw how YOU feel today

Draw your face — exactly how you feel right now. Sleepy? Excited? A little grumpy? It's all okay.

Today I feel: ________________
              (write the Arabic word)

🌟 6. Mini-challenge (optional stretch)

In Arabic, feeling words change depending on if you're a boy or a girl. Boys add nothing. Girls add a little ة at the end (it sounds like "eh" or "ah").

Fill in the missing form:

Boy says Girl says
مَبسوط
مَبسوطة
زَعلان
_____________
تَعبان
_____________

Which one do YOU say? Circle it: boy form / girl form

📝 Tonight's home practice (1 minute)

Ask three people in your family — in Arabic or English — "How do you feel?" Write down their answer in Arabic if you can.

I asked... They said they felt...
