Workbook — Session 25: Outside the Door (بَرّا البَيت)

Print this page. Use it during the session. Keep it in your folder.

🟢 1. Today's letter — ض (Dad)

Trace each ض. Start with the loop, then the tooth on top, then the dot way up high.

ض . . . . ض . . . . ض . . . . ض . . . . ض

Now try writing one by yourself:

Big ض! Make it huge — don't forget the dot:

Fun fact: Arabic is sometimes called "the language of ض" because this sound is so special.

🟡 2. Find the ض

Circle every word that has the letter ض in it:

ضَوء     شَمس     أَبيَض     قَمَر     أَرض

Hint: three of them have a ض. Look for the dot up high!

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read these three words out loud. Point to each one as you say it:

Picture Arabic Say it
☀️
شَمس
shams
🌙
قَمَر
qa-mar
نَجمة
naj-meh

After you read them, walk to a window and point. Can you see any of these right now?

🟣 4. Sort it: Day or Night?

Draw a line from each word to where you'd see it — in the day sky or the night sky.

Word Where?
شَمس
─ → 🌃 Night sky
قَمَر
─ → ☀️ Day sky
نَجمة
─ → 🌃 Night sky
سَماء
─ → ☀️🌃 Both!

The sky — سَماء — is there all the time. It just changes color.

🔵 5. Draw what's outside your window

Look out a window right now. Draw what you see. Is it day or night? Sunny or cloudy? Any trees, buildings, mountains?

🌟 6. Mini-challenge (optional stretch)

The word ضَوء means light. Light comes from lots of places. Check the boxes for things that give light:

The moon is tricky! It doesn't make its own ضَوء — it bounces the sun's light back to us. Sneaky قَمَر.

📝 Tonight's home practice (1 minute)

Tonight, go to a window or step outside with someone in your family. Point at the sky and name one thing in Arabic.
