Workbook — Session 37: Two-Letter Words

Name: _________________________________

Date: _________________________________

Print this page. Use it during the session. Keep it in your folder.

🟢 1. Today's letter — ك (kaf)

Trace each kaf. Start at the top corner, pull down, then across the bottom.

ك . . . . ك . . . . ك . . . . ك . . . . ك

Now try writing one by yourself:

Big kaf! Make it huge:

Tip: the little kaf-shape inside (the ء-looking mark) is what tells your eye "this is a kaf, not a lam."

🟡 2. Find the kaf

Circle every word that has the letter ك (kaf) in it:

كَم     مِن     مَعَك     لا     كِتاب     في     كَيف

Hint: four of them have a kaf. Look carefully — kaf can hide at the end of a word too!

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read each two-letter word out loud. Point to each letter as you say it. Then read the whole word smoothly.

Arabic Say it Means
في
fee in
مِن
min from
مَع
ma'a with
كَم
kam how much

Now read them faster. Then faster again. Two letters → one quick word!

🟣 4. Match the little word to its meaning

Draw a line from each Arabic word to what it means in English.

Word Meaning
في
─ → from
مِن
─ → with
مَع
─ → to
إِلى
─ → in
لا
─ → how much
هَل
─ → no
كَم
─ → (question word)

🔵 5. Draw it — me and my favorite thing

These tiny words help us say where things are. Draw yourself with something you love (a pet, a snack, a toy), or in your favorite place (your room, the kitchen, the balcony).

Fill in the blank under your drawing — pick في (in) or مَع (with):

أَنا _________ ________________

(I am ___ ___________)

🌟 6. Mini-challenge (optional stretch)

Build a tiny question! Put هَل (the question word) in front of a sentence to ask a yes/no question, or use كَم to ask "how much / how many."

Try reading these out loud:

هَل مَعَك كِتاب؟    (Do you have a book with you?)

كَم تُفّاحة؟    (How many apples?)

Now make your own question. Pick هَل or كَم and ask someone in your home:

Word I used My question Their answer
هَل / كَم _________________ _____________

📝 Tonight's home practice (1 minute)

Find two of today's little words in real life. Listen for them at dinner, in a song, in a show, or when a grown-up speaks Arabic.

Word Where I heard or saw it Who said it
_____________
_________________ _____________
_____________
_________________ _____________

Couldn't find them? Ask a grown-up to use one in a sentence. That counts too.
