Workbook — Session 38: Three-Letter Words

Name: _________________________________

Date: _________________________________

Print this page. Use it during the session. Keep it in your folder.

🟢 1. Today's letter — ل (lam)

Trace each lam. Start at the top. Pull straight down, then curve at the bottom like a little hook.

ل . . . . ل . . . . ل . . . . ل . . . . ل

Now try writing one by yourself:

Big lam! Make it huge — really stretch that hook:

🟡 2. Find the lam

Circle every word that has the letter ل (lam) in it:

وَلَد     كِتاب     لَيل     قَلَم     بَيت     شَجَر

Hint: lam shows up a LOT in Arabic. Look carefully — it might be at the beginning, middle, or end.

How many did you circle? ______

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read these three words out loud. They each have only three letters. Point to each one as you say it:

Picture Arabic Say it Means
🏠
بَيت
bayt house
👦
وَلَد
wa-lad boy
🌙
لَيل
layl night

Read all three one more time, a little faster. You just read three whole Arabic words! 🎉

🟣 4. Match the word to the picture

Draw a line from each Arabic word on the right to its picture on the left.

Picture Word
📖 Book ─ →
بِنت
✏️ Pen ─ →
كِتاب
🌳 Tree ─ →
قَلَم
👧 Girl ─ →
شَجَر

Tip: count the letters. They're almost all three!

🔵 5. Draw it

Pick ONE word from today and draw it. Write the Arabic word under your drawing.

🌟 6. Mini-challenge (optional stretch)

Three-letter words are like LEGO bricks — small but everywhere. Can you find the lam inside these longer words too?

**قَلَم**    **وَلَد**    **لَيل**

Now try writing one of them yourself, copying letter by letter:

My word: _______________

Bonus: can you point to the lam in your own word? Circle it.

📝 Tonight's home practice (1 minute)

Walk around your home tonight. Find ONE of today's words in real life — a real house, a real book, a real pen, a real tree out the window. Say the Arabic word out loud when you find it.

The word I said What I found Where I was
