Difficulty levels: Easy Medium Challenge

1 Tally Mark Practice Easy Activity

Practice making tally marks for these numbers: 3, 7, 12, 15, 20. Remember to cross every 5th mark!

2 Count the Room Easy Activity

Pick 3 types of objects in your room (books, toys, clothes). Count each type using tally marks. Make a table.

3 Kitchen Counter Count Medium Activity

Count how many of each utensil is in your kitchen drawer (forks, spoons, knives). Record with tally marks and a table.

4 Car Counting Medium Activity

Sit by a window for 5 minutes. Count cars by color using tally marks. Which color passed by most?

5 Ask and Count Medium Group Activity

Ask 10 people a question with 3 choices (favorite pet: cat, dog, fish). Use tally marks to record. Make a table of results.

6 Tally Mark Decoder Challenge Critical Thinking

A friend shows you these tally marks: IIII IIII III. They say the total is 15. Are they right? How do you know? What is the real total?
