Name: _________________________________

Date: _________________________________

Print this page. Use it during the session. Keep it in your folder.

🟢 1. Today's numerals — ١ ٢ ٣ ٤ ٥

These are the Arabic numerals. They look different from the numbers you usually write! Trace each one:

١ . . . ١ . . . ١ . . . ١ . . . ١
٢ . . . ٢ . . . ٢ . . . ٢ . . . ٢
٣ . . . ٣ . . . ٣ . . . ٣ . . . ٣
٤ . . . ٤ . . . ٤ . . . ٤ . . . ٤
٥ . . . ٥ . . . ٥ . . . ٥ . . . ٥

Now write all five by yourself, in order:

Tip: the ١ (one) looks like a Western 1. But the ٥ (five) looks like a zero! Tricky, huh?

🟡 2. Find the number

Circle every Arabic numeral you can find. Cross out the ones that are NOT Arabic numerals:

٣     7     ٥     B     ٢     9     ١     ٤

How many did you circle? Write it here: _____

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read these three number words out loud. Point to each one as you say it:

Numeral Arabic Say it
١
واحَد
wa-had
٣
ثَلاثة
tha-la-theh
٥
خَمسة
kham-seh

Now ask a grown-up:

كَم؟
(kam? — how many?) Hold up some fingers and count them in Arabic!

🟣 4. Match the numeral to the word

Draw a line from each Arabic numeral to its name:

Numeral Word
٢
─ →
خَمسة
٤
─ →
واحَد
١
─ →
أَربَعة
٥
─ →
اِثنَين
٣
─ →
ثَلاثة

🔵 5. Draw it!

Draw ٣ ثَلاثة (three) of something you love. Three cats? Three cookies? Three soccer balls? You pick!
