🟢 1. Today's letter — ة (ta marbuta) review

The ta marbuta is the little round ة at the end of a word. It usually sounds like a soft -ah. It's the letter that tells you a word is feminine — like a little bow tied at the end. 🎀

Trace each ta marbuta. Start at the top, make a circle, add the two dots:

ة . . . . ة . . . . ة . . . . ة . . . . ة

Now try writing three by yourself:

Write the word أَكلَة (a dish of food). Notice the ة at the end:

🟡 2. Find the ta marbuta

Circle every word that ends with ة (ta marbuta):

أَكلَة     ماما     طَبخَة     مَطبَخ     لَذيذَة     أَطبُخ

Hint: three of them have it. Look for the little circle with two dots.

🟠 3. I can read these words

Read each word out loud. Point to it as you say it. These are from today's story:

Picture Arabic Say it Means
👩‍🍳
ماما تَطبُخ
mama tat-bukh Mama cooks
🍲
أَكلَة
ak-leh a dish
🙋
أنا أَطبُخ
ana at-bukh I cook

Read all three in a row. That's a tiny story! Tell a grown-up: "I just read three things in Arabic."

🟣 4. Who is cooking?

Match each sentence to the right picture by drawing a line:

Sentence Picture
ماما تَطبُخ أَكلَة
─ → 🧒🥘
أنا أَطبُخ مع ماما
─ → 👩‍🍳
الأَكلَة لَذيذَة
(the dish is yummy)
─ → 😋🍽️

🔵 5. Draw the dish

What is Mama cooking in the story — or what does YOUR mama (or baba, or teta, or jiddo) cook? Draw the dish. Write its name in Arabic OR English under your drawing.

The dish is called: ________________

It is: sweet 🍯 / salty 🧂 / spicy 🌶️ / sour 🍋

🌟 6. Mini-challenge (optional stretch)

Write your own sentence in Arabic. Pick someone in your family and tell what they cook. Use this pattern:

_______ يَطبُخ / تَطبُخ _______

(use يَطبُخ yat-bukh for boys/men, تَطبُخ tat-bukh for girls/women)

Some ideas to fill in:

**تيتا** (teta)    **جِدّو** (jiddo)    **بابا** (baba)    **خالتي** (my aunt)    **عَمّي** (my uncle)

My sentence: ____________________________________________

📝 Tonight's home practice (2 minutes)

Read the three story lines to someone at home. Then ask them what THEIR favorite dish is.

I read to... Their favorite أَكلَة They said it was...
